Images of Paris – Visual Art ExhibitionAlliance Francaise, Singapore 25-31 May 2005“Navigating through the local nooks and turns in the day, and absorbing sessions of brushwork in his retreat at night, the experience in Paris was an intimate immersion of a powerful solitude of an artist living, breathing and painting in a city culture heavily accented by its love with the canvas. Interludes in the numerous art museums sprawled in the neighborhood provided visual dialogue and soulful acquaintance with the strokes and dabs by past masters that have courted and enchanted Paris and the world over. They combined to evoke a stunning liberation of audacious technique, thought and style that had previously teased beneath a simmering of blurred guise. “Images of Paris” is a showcase of the masterpieces produced during Singaporean artist Low Hai Hong’s five months stay in Paris. Capturing his impressions of the people and places of Paris on oil, “Images of Paris” is both a statement of his breakthrough in art, and a display of his appreciation for this beautiful city.” |
